The Beaux -Arts
A village in the city
The Beaux-Arts area has a village air despite being quite close to the city center.
The village square dates back to the creation of the abattoirs in 1851. They were demolished in 1985 and now terraces, bars, shops and restaurants line the area they used to be.
Held in the village square
The ideal food market for those who prefer intimacy over crowds
This is one of the smaller markets in Montpellier with up to 7 stalls. Stocking fresh fruit, veg, honey and meat on the village square surrounded by terraces, it offers a more relaxed experience than the Arceaux or Antigone markets.
Though small, it remains lively and you can stop at one of the terraces on the square for a coffee or a bite to eat, or pop in to one of the local shops or bakeries to finish off your shopping.
